Description

Depicting the youthful figure of David sheathing his sword after battle with Goliath, signed to the base 'P. Dubois' and inscribed 'DAVID'.

Not to be confused with the more common model by Antonin Mercié, which also shows David sheathing his sword, but, unlike the present model by Paul Dubois (French, 1829-1905), depicts the slain head of Goliath under the foot of David.
