Description

This beautiful Louis XV style cabinet is crafted from kingwood and rosewood and is adorned with ormolu mounts and Sèvres style porcelain plaques

The upper section of the cabinet is rectangular in form, with its exterior surfaces veneered in kingwood and rosewood. The centre of each side is set with a green-ground porcelain plaque depicting a floral bouquet, which is set within an ormolu cartouche frame, while the corners of the cabinet are adorned with caryatid-like ormolu mounts. The domed top of the cabinet hinges open, and the front drops, revealing a dressing mirror and a writing slide, respectively. The interior of the cabinet hosts four drawers and a cubby hole, while the top opens to reveal a silk lined compartment.

The cabinet is raised on a stand of four cabriole legs, each terminating in an ormolu foliate sabot and each set to its shoulder with an ormolu foliate mount.
