This exceptionally ornate and intricately carved marble topped mahogany table was crafted in the style of the French Régence period, in France in the late nineteenth century.
Of rectangular shape, the piece comprises an extensively carved mahogany framework, that depicts female busts on each leg, and which is decorated with festoons and floral patterns, across the four facades and the lengths of the equally ornate legs.
The legs joined through an x-stretcher near the base, which supports the magnificent woodwork and the pink and grey veined marble which is placed on top. Evocate, grand, and a miraculous work of late nineteenth century French carpentry, this fine piece will make a magnificent antique addition to one's home, successfully recalling the sophistication of the French Régence period of 1715-1723.
