Made in France the nineteenth century and imitaing the distinctive beautiful style of the Regency period, this large and beautifully cast and delineated chandelier is crafted from gilt-bronze, with four branches and mounts for lighting elements.
The chandelier is topped by a cast leaf-like corona, or crown, above a baluster which is decorated with four dolphins. This is set against a fluted neck and sheathed amid palm fronds, rocailles and putti busts.
It is not wired, yet it issues forth four detachable scrolling acanthus arms, ending in circular drip plates in a foliate motif. Demonstrating the splendour affored by the Régence style, it makes an outstanding and beautiful interior piece for those looking for a suitable touch of French luxury and class.
