This beautiful watercolour by Émile Boivin is contained by a superb shaped giltwood frame, the warm tone of which complements the colour palette of the watercolour held within.

The watercolour portrays a desert scene at dusk, the sky along the horizon coloured a brilliant, blazing red. The focus of the painting is a group of four figures and a camel, who huddle about a refreshing water fountain. The watercolour is superbly painted, with fluid brushstrokes and vibrant colours employed to render a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The painting is signed lower right ‘Emile Boivin’.
