Restauration Period Antiques

The Restauration period occurred in the late 18th Century, under the reigns of King Louis XVIII and Charles X of France. The stylistic approach of the Restauration period is characterised as being an amalgamation of its Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical predecessors. In particular, the style was greatly influenced by the Neoclassical period of Louis XVI, and motifs such as rosettes, palmettes and mythical creatures were common to Restauration design.
