The cartel clock is formed of two malachite sections - an upper clock case and a lower plinth. The lower section, a triangular platform, is mounted around the sides and front with scrolling ormolu in acanthus leaf and C-scroll designs. The lower section is connected to the upper clock case with ormolu mounts. The upper clock case takes a curvaceous arched shape. To the centre is a white, circular dial with black Roman numerals and ormolu hands, bordered in stylized acanthus-leaf and C-scroll shaped ormolu mounts and malachite.
