Description

This fine coffee table by the leading Danish furniture designer Jens Quistgaard is a superb example of Mid-Century Modern design. The table features a square profile rosewood tabletop with a raised lip around its edge. The table is raised on four chrome legs—the tops visible flush on the surface of the tabletop—that are connected by two perpendicular pairs of rosewood stretchers. In the spare simplicity, refinement, and material luxury of its design, the table is a wonderful work of twentieth-century design.

A similar table by Quistgaard was sold in the Important 20th Century Design sale at Christie's New York on 16 June 2011 for $122,500.
