Description

Decorated with pale pink and light blue flowers enamel, the base with a metallic button representing the family owners for whom it was made for, the verso in relief with the monogram 'XB' for 'Christos Voskrese'.

These kind of glass egg works are known to have been a very personal religious Easter item in the beginning of the 20th Century and varied in motif and design according to personal taste. Traditionally they would hang on the sides of icons during the Easter period to celebrate the resurrection of Christ as the mongram stands for.
