The fine oil on canvas painting is in the Russian Post-Impressionist style and depicts Vladimir Lenin as he reaches over a picket fence to shake the hand of a young boy as others look upon, in a rural farmland setting. The painterly style is fluid and cursory, with blocks of unadulterated colour employed to render sculptural form and moments of light and shade.
