Description

This wonderful locket opens to reveal a triptych of enamel plaques. The locket is crafted from silver-gilt, and its external surfaces are inscribed in cursive Cyrillic script, with the central section of the lock engraved with a representation of the cross. The enamel plaques depict the Annunciation, a Russian Orthodox patriarch figure, and a depiction of Chris. The top of the locket features a loop mount for a necklace.

The silver is stamped ‘84’, indicating 87.5% silver purity.
