This fine set of silver plates is by Bruno e Cesare Zaramella e Figli, also known as Zaramella and Sons, a silversmithing firm based in Padua in Italy. The set, wrought from 80% pure silver, is comprised of twelve dinner plates, twelve fruit plates, twelve side plates, and twelve coasters.
Each of the 48 pieces is of the same shape and form, with the only difference between the various plates and coasters being the scale: each is octagonal in shape, with a raised and moulded lip around the edge and a further circular raised lip encompassing a central circular roundel. The form is striking in its spare geometricality.
