Of differing sizes, and in the form of baskets with handles, these stunning pieces are a set of five fruit bowls, and they showcase a wonderful combination of silver with green glass liners.
They are hallmarked for Georg Roth & Co., the excellent makers from Hanau, Germany, who excelled in working in a French Rococo style, and were made in the late 19th Century. They are compose of silver mounts and handles, upon which are liners of green glass, that arc out in a sandle shape and sink down into the silver cage. The two of largest height (with handles extended) are 41cm, width 30cm, depth 25cm. The silver weight is 3,400 grammes.
