Set of four English nesting side tables with ebonised wood inlay
£5,500
This vintage quartet of nesting tables, made in England in the early 20th century, forms a beautiful, functional, and versatile antique furniture addition to one's home.
This nest of tables, made in early twentieth century England, is a charming set of four side tables, stacking for storage, and opening out as required to form a functional and attractive furniture suite.
With two pairs of turned legs, marked by a series of horizontal gilt circular bands, the surface of each table features a simple yet effective geometric rectangular border in ebonised wood inlay. The rear set of legs of each piece are connected with a pair of stretchers which align when folded away. The three smaller pieces have a rectangular surface, diminishing in size, while the larger outer piece has a more ornate, curved border surface, given the set more style when stored or used as one.
A pleasing set, the tables naturally stack perfectly, and when unfurled make a versatile, practical and visually appealing suite, with a suitable touch of antique and Edwardian style.
