Set of four Spanish silver crab-form boxes

The beautiful boxes in this set of four are crafted from silver in the form of crabs. Each box, which may function as a salt and pepper pot, is realistically modelled and finished in silver: the crabs are complete with jointed legs, claws, and pot-marked shell backs. Each crab features a hinged cover, which opens to reveal a polished interior compartment.

Two of the crabs are marked with standard Spanish silver hallmarks, and one is engraved to the top ‘LOS VIEIROS’.
