These beautiful silver pieces were made by the leading firm, Hunt & Roskell, and represent some of the finest work Victorian silversmiths have to offer. The four dessert stands - a rarity in itself, as such pieces are commonly found as singles or as pairs, are each set upon domed round bases complete with baluster stems. They each possess beaded borders, and the metalwork is further chased with foliate scrolls and leaves against a matt ground. The glass is cut with a series of star-shaped patterns, and the silver is fully, crested, hallmarked and inscribed 'Hunt & Roskell Late Storr & Mortimer 6724.'
