Each satinwood column in this set of four pedestals stands upon a square satinwood plinth, the upper edge of which is finished with an inset mounted foliate ormolu (gilt bronze) beading. Rising from a wooden torus, the shaft of each column is delineated with twelve flutes, the concavity of each flute being stained darkly. The shaft gradually tapers towards the top, where it is topped by a curvilinear capital that is comprised of a concave echinus and a convex abacus. Immediately above the torus and below the capital of each column, the fluting is infilled with mounted ormolu foliate and bead motifs. Each column is surmounted by a marble and ormolu entablature, the latter of which is moulded in a foliate manner.
Two pedestals of very similar design, available here, can be added to this set to make it a group of six.
