Each of the six silver plates in this set is extensively engraved with interwoven geometrical boteh and palmette motifs. The central disc of each plate features an elongated version of this symmetrical entwined pattern. Bounding the centre is a ring of foliate motifs. The outer rim is decorated by palmettes, a boteh motif at the centre of each. At the top of each plate is a vacant shield of polished silver. The palmette and boteh motifs overlay a background of minuscule floral engraved decoration.
