The figurines in this set of six are delicately carved from lapis lazuli, three of the pieces raised on carved wooden bases. Three of the figures represent Ganesha, the elephant-headed god prominent in the Hindu pantheon. One figurine depicts a rabbit; another portrays the Buddha seated. The sixth figurine—or, more properly, group—represents an elderly man accompanied by a younger female figure.
