This charming set of six prints, printed by the famous bookseller Rudolph Ackermann, depicts scenes from a hunt, with various horses and dogs pursing their prey.

Description

This fine set of six prints was produced by the celebrated Anglo-German bookseller and printmaker Rudolph Ackermann, famous for his depicts of carriages and his The Microcosm of London, for which he collaborated with Thomas Rowlandson. The prints in the present set depict horses at hunt, each print portraying one horse accompanied by dogs and ridden by a gentleman.

Each print is titled above ‘One of the Flowers of our Hunt’ and is separately titled and inscribed below. The prints are signed and dated 1851 immediately below the image.

Each is contained within a giltwood frame.
