Description

This set of six plates is crafted and decorated in the manner of Sèvres. Each plate features a dark cobalt blue ground with a parcel gilt rim patterned with stylised arabesque motifs. The central circular panels of the plates are painted with equestrian scenes of the hunt executed in a Rococo style and with typically Rococo shades of pastel blue, pink, and green. The painted scene on each plate is signed ‘Wouvemans’ and the reverse of each plate is painted with the mark of Sèvres.
