The set is comprised of a mantel clock and pair of flanking vases.
The clock features a pedestal-like ormolu case which is set on a rectangular ormolu base, on four fluted ormolu feet. This base is decorated with a navy porcelain plaque which is parcel gilt with foliate patterns, as well as ormolu rosettes and a grape leaf motif. The top of the base is edged with an ormolu band of alternating clusters of grapes and leaves.
A porcelain circular dial is located at the centre of the waisted clock case. This dial is finely painted with a pair of cherubs, encircled by black Roman Numerals in parcel gilt and jewelled white medallions, set against a navy ground. The dial is displayed behind a glass lens. The case’s front is mounted with navy porcelain panels, and the dial is topped by an ormolu ribbon bow and flower trails. Ormolu putti masks and stylised leaves decorate the sides of the case. The upper edge of the case is lined with decorative mouldings.
The clock case is surmounted by a navy porcelain vase which features two ormolu handles in the form of female term sculptures. The vase is painted with an image of two cherubs and a beautiful young woman, seated in an idealised landscape. It is further decorated with a turquoise leaf motif and band, as well as parcel gilt and jewelled patterns.
Flanking the clock are a pair of vases. These vases are set on circular ormolu bases which are decorated with scrolled foliage and reed-and-ribbon bands. They stand on navy porcelain feet which are finely parcel gilt. Their navy, shaped cylindrical bodies are painted with images of courting couples, set within elaborate parcel gilt frames. Each vase is fitted with two ormolu handles in the form of stylised leafy vines. The vases are topped by circular ormolu chain-patterned mouths.
