This three-piece clock set is comprised of a central mantel clock and a pair of flanking vases, all wrought from gilt metal and Sèvres style porcelain.
The central mantel clock features a gilt metal frame, the casting profusely foliate in form. The clock case is inset with a circular white porcelain dial, the dial inscribed with Arabic numeral hour marks. Below the dial, the case is inset with a porcelain plaque painted with a scene of a couple courting—a fête galante—within an idyllic landscape. The case is flanked by two decorative red-ground porcelain columns painted with narrow panels depicting countryside cottages. The case is surmounted by an ornate urn-form finial comprised of porcelain and appended with foliate gilt bronze mounts.
The pair of vases is similarly decorated, each vase raised on a conforming gilt bronze base—likewise inset with a painted porcelain plaque. The red-ground porcelain bodies of the vases contained painted panels, the panels depicting quiet cottages in pastoral landscapes.
