Description

The carriage clock features a rectangular body surmounted by an ormolu handle. The clock features an ormolu frame casing which is inlaid with porcelain plaques to the front and to the two sides. The front plaque features the clock face, which is painted with Roman numerals on circular white ground and features a central putto holding a garland of flowers. The clock dial is surrounded by a pink ground with gilt arabesques. The porcelain plaques to each of the sides feature paintings of further putti playing together surrounded by a gilt and pink border. The back of the glass is set with a pane of glass to reveal the movement. The clock is set on an ormolu base with a curved step.
