Description

The card box is decorated in the style of Faberge. The silver gilt box is of rectangular form, so as to fit a pack of cards within, and features cloisonne enamel decorations all over. On one side, the King of Hearts is depicted, and on the other side is the Queen of Clubs. Each of these depictions are surrounded by floral and geometric boders on a pale blue ground. The side panels are decorated with blossoms and foliate arabesques in polychrome enamel, and the surmounting panel features a central Spade motif. The interior is gilt washed, and the underside bears spurious marks for Feodor Ruckert, Faberge, Moscow.
