Silver-gilt and guilloché enamel antique Russian table clock
£12,000
This antique table clock is a fine example of high quality Russian craftsmanship, as demonstrated by its skilfully executed blue guilloché enamel surface.
The table clock is of rectangular form with canted angles. The clock is crafted in silver-gilt engraved with scrolling flowers and is inlaid all over with turquoise guilloché enamel panels. The clock face is set to the upper centre, and takes oval form, featuring black Arabic numerals on a white dial, the style of which is reminiscent of the Art Deco. The clock features a folding silver gilt stand to the reverse and carries marks for St. Petersburg, an assay mark for Jakow Ljapunow and '88' and indistinct maker’s mark.
