Description

Fully marked for the maker, this excellent open salt and spoon was made in Moscow, towards the end of the nineteenth century, and comprises masterful decoration executed in silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel. With a band of white dots around the rim and with splashes of whimsical tear-shaped and spiralling shapes in blues, green, purple and red, this piece is an excellent example of Russian style and sophistication around the turn of the twentieth century.
