This charming open salt and spoon was made in Moscow in the late 19th Century, with intricate and exceptional work in silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel decoration.
Fully marked for the maker, this excellent open salt and spoon was made in Moscow, towards the end of the nineteenth century, and comprises masterful decoration executed in silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel. With a band of white dots around the rim and with splashes of whimsical tear-shaped and spiralling shapes in blues, green, purple and red, this piece is an excellent example of Russian style and sophistication around the turn of the twentieth century.
