The dressing table is carved in walnut, and is extensively and very finely inlaid with ivory, mother-of-pearl and ebony. The table top is inlaid to the centre with ivory in a geometrically interlocked star-shaped pattern, and bordered with an overlapping inlaid frieze of ebony and ivory. The hinged top can be opened to reveal a central mirror, which is flanked on either side by two panels, each with a central fleur de lys and partial borders of ivory arabesques on ebony, all set on red velvet. The interior of the dressing table reveals partitioned trays in walnut, and the hinged top can be locked with a key. The dressing table is set on four legs which splay outward at the feet, supported by stretchers which meet in the middle. The legs and stretchers are highly ornate with carved wooden grill details, architectural Moorish style arches, and feature further geometric inlay details in ebony, ivory and mother-of-pearl.
