Description

The ‘nested’ or ‘nesting tables’ are of similar design, but are graduated in scale so they can be easily stacked. Such table sets are designed to be used occasionally, for tea parties, for instance.

The tables stand on four bamboo sticks which are paired to form two legs. These legs are linked by back stretchers which are composed of parallel bamboo sticks. The bamboo legs support rectangular lacquer table tops with bamboo back panels. The smallest and middle-sized top depict birds perched on branches, and the largest portrays three geese, two standing and one in flight. These lacquer tops are edged with bamboo borders.

Largest table: Height 74cm, width 67cm, depth 43cm
Smallest table: Height 67cm, width 52cm, depth 33cm
