The set comprises thirteen dinner plates, four deep plates, one large bowl, two tazze, two tureens with lids and two large openwork fruit bowls. Each item has with finely painted views of Paris and Italy, respectively titled at the bottom of each scene, and cobalt blue edges with different gilt borders.

Inscriptions on the dinner plates read: 'Vue de Naples; Autre vue d'Anet du cote de la cour; Vue du temple de Vesta; Vue du Palais Bourbon; Vue de la bariere de la Perence; Vue de l'entre des Tuileries; Vue des environs de Paris; Vue d'Athenes; Vue de l'entre des Champs Elysees; Vue du Palais Royal; Vue de Naples; Vue du Theatre de Bordeaux Inscrpitons on the deep plates read: 'Vue du Louvre prise du carre St. Germain; Vue dans les Tuileries de jardin; Vue du Louvre; Vue du Pont Neuf et du Pont Royal et du Louvre' Inscription on the large bowl reads: 'Barriere de Menilmontant' Inscriptions on the two tureens read: 'Barriere poissoniere; Barriere font Arabie; Barriere de Pleuilly; Barriere de Vincennes; Barriere des Vertus; Barriere blanche' and 'Barriere de Monceau; Barriere des deux couronnes, Barriere de Seve; Barriere de Grenelle; Barriere de St. Mande; Barriere de Picpuce' In 1795, the three Darte brothers- Joseph (1765-1832), Louis Joseph (1766-1843) and Jean Francois (1768-1834)- bought a porcelain factory in Paris, on Rue de Charonne. They opened a shop at the Palais Royal under the Direction of Jean Francois. In August 1803 Louis Joseph and Jean Francois founded a new company under the name Darte Freres and after that Joseph Darte continued to operate independently under the name Darte Aine.
