These huqqa bases are bell-shaped with flared bottoms. Their necks are waisted and feature cylindrical tops with faceted mouths.
The huqqa bases have been crafted from clear glass, with a bright blue and white overlay. The glass is left clear for the scalloped panels which decorate the huqqas’ bottoms, necks and tops. These panels are filled with colourful enamel flowers, raised beads and gilt patterns. Detailed half-length portraits of Naser al-Din Shah and Mozaffar al-Din Shah, the 19th-Century Qajar kings of Persia, decorate the huqqas’ bell-shaped bottoms. The areas of blue overlay are ornamented with swirling gilt patterns and raised beads.
