The white porcelain vases been crafted in the classical amphora shape. They stand on splayed feet, on square plinths, all of which have been gilt. Their bodies are slim near their feet, but broaden out as they progress upwards. These vase bodies feature classical style paintings, which depict young courting couples. In one scene, a boy presents a beautiful girl to a seated bearded man, perhaps the boy’s father. The second vase painting shows a boy kneeling devotedly before a girl, while a woman holding a vessel observes the scene from a distance. The backs of the bodies are gilt and feature incised with floral motifs. Each vase has two looping handles, which have been gilt. These are fitted onto the gilt vase shoulders, which are decorated with incised foliage swags. Above, the narrow, cylindrical gilt necks widen out to form open mouths.
