The cabinet is designed so that it has a very wide but quite shallow body. It will look perfect placed against a wall in a grand interior.
Set on eight, ormolu foliate spade feet, the malachite cabinet body is comprised of three cupboards, topped by frieze drawers. The two end cupboards are identically decorated with rectangular ormolu frames, draped with flower garlands.
The central pair of cupboard doors are similarly decorated, but they project forwards at their centre in a bell-shaped form. The sides of this raised central section are mounted with ormolu flower garlands, and its front is decorated with a floral ormolu motif, composed of crossed cornucopias and a flower wreath. Ormolu-mounted pilasters, with scrolled tops, visually separate out the three cupboards.
Each cupboard is topped by a frieze, which is decorated with a chain-like band of foliate ormolu ornament. The pilasters are surmounted by square, symmetrical floral ormolu motifs. These designs are contained within ormolu bands, which span the width of the cabinet.
