This majestic eagle was crafted in the late 20th century from a selection of beautiful and high-quality materials. It is attributed to the renowned Asprey firm which for centuries specialises in the creation of luxury jewellery and decorative objects for an elite clientele.
The sculpture depicts a very large eagle taking off from a rocky base filled with a plethora of shiny pyrite crystals. The eagle’s wings are fully spread out, emphasising its prominent size and power. Its body is fully covered with variously sized quartz crystals, appearing as if growing out of the eagle. Large pieces of the crystal are used on the underside of the wings, their size gradually decreasing towards the tail.
The eagle’s wings and tail are covered with several silver-gilt feather-like pieces. Their shiny gold colouration creates a very eye-catching contrast with the white quartz crystal. Peeking out from under the silver gilt feathers are pieces of pyrite, their small size encouraging one to carefully observe all facets of this stunning bird sculpture. The bird’s head, as well as the feet, are crafted from silver-gilt, the Asprey artists beautifully rendering anatomical features such as the eagle’s tongue and claws. Â
The crystals used for this sculpture are believed to have important protective properties. Quartz crystal enhances spirituality while pyrite attracts good luck and abundance. The combination of the two is even more important, protecting the owner from negative energy and purifying the energy around them.
