Description

This fine cold-painted bronze sculptural lamp is by Franz Xaver Bergman. The lamp depicts a young Eastern woman playing a mandolin and singing. She sits on a green cushioned seat above steps draped with a Persian rug. She is covered above by a domed canopy with trefoil windows draped with red-and-white striped curtains, from which is suspended a lamp, while behind is a pierced window. The bronze is deftly cast and is finely painted with rich, unadulterated tones. The underside is marked for Bergman.
