Description

Skilfully made by nature, this collection consists of an amethyst geode and a petrified wood specimen.

The slender amethyst piece is beautifully coloured in deep purple, transitioning to deep brown, almost black shades. The minerals are surrounded by a salmon pink and grey layer. A geode is a spherical rock structure with a hollow internal cavity. When opened it reveals a dazzling array of minerals, like the amethyst piece in Mayfair Gallery’s collection. When displayed in sunlight, the minerals inside the rock majestically glimmer adding a dream-like look to the piece and its surroundings.

The second piece in this collection is a petrified wood specimen. Also known as petrified tree, this is a type of fossilised wood. It forms when minerals enter the empty spaces between and within cells of wood. The inside of the specimen looks like the growth rings in a tree, however the outside layer appears like a rock.

The two pieces could act as a home décor piece or would make a wonderful addition to the collection of someone fascinated with the natural world.
