Description

Crafted in late 19th century France, the chandelier is adorned with a selection of nature-inspired motifs and its shape is very unusual for pieces of this type.

The centre of this bowl-shaped chandelier is crafted from frosted cut glass which creates a stunning backdrop for the shining ormolu features. Towards the bottom, the glass bowl features cut floral designs complemented by an ormolu finial in the middle.

Surrounding the central bowl is an ormolu frame with an acanthus as well as a reed and ribbon motif. From the frame extend six short arms with shaped bulb holders pointing downwards. These are cast in the shape of acanthus leaves.

When illuminated the light enhances the beauty of the glass whilst also highlighting the detailed cast pieces, making this chandelier a superb addition to the appropriate interior setting.
