The pair of Paris porcelain vases are of identical shape, set on square plinths with geometric patterning around the edges. The waisted, circular base of each vase is heavily gilded with a band of leaf decorations. The ovoid bodies of the vases are finely decorated to the front with Neoclassical paintings of three winged cherubs on a gleaming gilt ground. On one vase, the cherubs sing and play instruments, and on the other they write and bear laurel leaves. The back side of the vases are decorated with intricate black Gothic window frames and armoured knights, on a cobalt blue ground. The body of each vase is mounted with twin handles which feature inset masks and acanthus leaf decorations. The necks of the vases are entirely gilded, and taper upwards toward a lipped rim.
