Description

This very unusual Indian jug is crafted from silver in the form of a bird being mounted by a mythological beast. The bird is rendered with fine detail, with its feathers deftly engraved and moulded. Its feet form part of the integral socle, which splays into a circular foot. The handle of the jug is formed as a dragon-like beast with two intertwining tails. The top half of the bird’s head is hinged, serving as the lid.
