Description

This fine Art Deco period figurative sculpture depicts a young woman in an animated posture. The woman wears a light skirt around her waist, and her body demonstrates a dancing pose: her legs are split, and she stands on the balls of her feet, while her arms are spread to balance. The bronze is deftly modelled, with the folds of her dress and her tied-up hair naturalistically rendered. The figure is set atop an oval ormolu base, which is in turn raised on a veined black marble plinth.

The work is signed to the base 'C. Rochlitz'.
