A magnificent objet d'art, this superb Austro-Hungarian model depicts an elaborate and highly decorative horse drawn carriage. Set upon a rich polished wooden base, the set features four silver horses, embellished with silver-gilt and enamel decoration, which draw a gilt carriage.
The carriage is complete with a coachman, and is enliven by vibrant red enamel. Pearls and other precious beads adorn the work, and lend wonderful accents and splashes of colour to this already splendid piece. Small paintings of young noble women in countryside settings decorate the sides of the carriage, and the piece is accompanied by an excellent wooden case.
One wheel marked is marked 925 and a horse's leg is also marked.
