Description
This beautiful silver cylinder is a Burmese marriage document case. The surface of the case is profusely adorned with scrolling arabesques, bands of Greek key pattern, foliage, and other symbols associated with Buddhism. The decoration is realised by piercing, engraving, and etching, granting the silver surface of the piece a varied texture.
