Description

This fine cast iron sculpture depicts a Cossack lifting his lover from the ground and embracing her in a display of love and affection. The Cossack is seated on a horse, which stands on a base moulded with naturalistic ground. The figures and the horse demonstrate great naturalism, and the iron is wonderfully patinated.

The iron is stamped to the base with foundry mark in Cyrillic for 'Kasli S. Haldin' and with a court supplier mark.
