The circular Limoges enamel plaque portrays a young woman in profile, her face and eyes cast to the left of the picture. The woman, her blonde hair flowing freely, is bedecked in gold jewellery: a superb diadem around her head, the gold links of which are filled with polychrome jewels; an earring of gold and pale blue; and beautiful necklaces about her neck. She wears a light blue dress, the shoulders of which are all that is visible. She is set above a rich red enamel ground, the surface parcel gilt with foliate forms. The style and manner of execution is reminiscence of the Aesthetic Movement, with its emphasis on material beauty.
The plaque is contained by a circular gilt metal frame, the face of which is inset with red velvet. The frame is raised by twin ball feet and supported by an easel backing.
