Collection of antique luggage, a set of four English travel cases
£1,800
Made in the early 20th century, these curious pieces are a set of vintage travel cases, stamped and labelled with glimpses into English railway history.
Intriguing and fascinating historic pieces, this set of four vintage travel cases are fine examples of early twentieth century craft, and curious pieces of travel history from the history of the British railways.
In green, tan, light and dark brown, they are approximately the same size and design, with similar latch locking mechanisms on the front of each. They are variously stamped, some marks for the makers, one 'B--- Bros / Makers /Cheltenham,' and others stamped internally. Some bear the initials 'D.L.A' (for a David Lyndon Arkwright). They bear labels for both Southern British Railways and Royal Mail Lines, attesting to a rich history of use.
