This beautiful Chinese box is crafted from wood and is profusely adorned with pierced plaques carved from bone. The plaques feature superb openwork detailing, their pierced decorations wrought into a host of scrolling and abstracted foliate forms. The box features a copper escutcheon and copper handles to either side and is accompanied by a key.
