This collection of German cannisters is comprised of nine pewter pieces, each of which is a milk jug. The jugs are variously, some hexagonally, some cylindrically, and others of irregular form—one being formed as a book, for example. The surfaces of each piece are decoratively engraved. Each is set with a removable handled cover. The jugs are variously marked and stamped.
