Description

This superb centre table is crafted in the very refined Empire style popular in early 19th century France.

The circular table top is crafted from the bright green malachite, its edges mounted with an ormolu frame adorned with the egg and dart motif. Four ormolu legs support the tabletop, all terminating with lion paw feet. Each leg is mounted with a twisted leg and a winged female figure cast from patinated bronze. Their hands are raised as if they are supporting the weight of the tabletop.

A concave-sided square bronze base on ormolu squashed bun feet supports the whole table. Similarly to the round tabletop, the edges are mounted with ormolu detailing. Centering the bronze base is a malachite and ormolu urn, surmounted by a shining ormolu flambeau finial.

Of the finest quality, this centre table would be a wonderful addition to the appropriate space and could be used to display other impressive decorative pieces.
