Description

This beautiful model is crafted in the style of the renowned Russian jeweller, Peter Carl Fabergé (1846 -1920). The House of Fabergé is famed for its intricate luxury pieces made using the finest materials, and this model is an exemplar of their refined style.

The miniature model depicts a strawberry plant: from the delicate textured gold stem extend five ripening strawberries, expertly crafted from rhodonite with minute engravings to replicate the texture of the fruit. The pastel pink colour is beautifully contrasted by the deep green of the two nephrite leaves, which are impressively carved with a veined texture. The model is surmounted by a single blossom, with a diamond-set stigma surrounded by opal petals, all set on a nephrite leaf backing. The small size replicates the miniature stature of the original Fabergé models.

The model sits inside a rock crystal vase that is cleverly designed to give the illusion of being filled with water, adding to the verisimilitude of the model.

This incredible model displays extraordinary craftsmanship, and would make a superb addition to a desk or cabinet space.
