Four gilt metal and Bohemian glass landscape scene caskets

The set comprises two larger caskets and two smaller ones: each casket has a hinged cover which is mounted with gilt metal around the rim, and opens via a keyhole to reveal an interior of coloured glass with a diamond pattern at the base. Three of the caskets are red and one is blue. Each casket is overlaid around the sides and top with oval-shaped glass panels which have been painted with landscape and topographical scenes. There are further oval glass panels around the side of the lid of each casket, which feature images of flowers on white ground. Between the panels there are gilded decorations on red or blue ground, and white overlays at each of the corners. The interior of each lid is also decorated with a gilt floral pattern.
